Collingwood has announced that Nick Maxwell will again lead the club in 2010, with Heath Shaw, Harry O'Brien and recruit Darren Jolly added to a seven-man leadership group.
A couple of years after missing the final weeks of the season when he was suspended by the Magpies for crashing his ute into a parked car after a drinking session and then lying about the fact that Alan Didak was in the car, Shaw has been promoted.
He and Jolly, who crossed to the Lexus Centre during trade week last year following several seasons in Sydney with the Swans, were included following the voluntary decisions of ruckman Josh Fraser and former deputy Tarkyn Lockyer to step down from the leadership group.
With Maxwell confirmed again as skipper after he took over the role at the end of 2008 following the retirement of Scott Burns, Collingwood also named Scott Pendlebury as vice-captain and Dane Swan as deputy vice-captain.
On the day the Magpies also announced that airline Emirates has re-signed as a major sponsor for another five years, both Maxwell and president Eddie McGuire lauded Shaw for the way he has conducted himself since his off-field indiscretion.
The pair were quick to praise Shaw for not only accepting his punishments both from the law and the club but for the way he has matured since, while Maxwell also said Jolly has been elevated because he has impressed his team-mates since his arrival only five months ago.
