Pavlich commits future

Pavlich a Docker for life

09/08/2010 05:13:02 AM

Fremantle Captain Matthew Pavlich has agreed to a new four-year contract that will ensure he remains a Docker for life.

Pavlich, who was believed to have attracted interest from several Melbourne-based clubs as well as the Gold Coast Suns, will be tied to Freo through to the end of season 2014.

A six-time All Australian, Pavlich has captained the Dockers since 2007 when he took over from Peter Bell.

Drafted from Woodville-West Torrens in 1999 as the No. 4 selection overall, the 28-year-old has won his club's best and fairest five times and is the all-time leading goal kicker at Fremantle.

He will lead the Dockers into battle in Friday night's semi-final against Geelong.

Pavlich is only three games away from equalling Shane Parker's club record of 238 games.

Doesn't say much for Freo's quality that a hack like Shane Parker is the games record holder of their 153 players.
