Sacked Port Adelaide livewire Daniel Motlop has no hard feelings against the Power and still harbours hopes of continuing his AFL career elsewhere.
Port Adelaide delisted the enigmatic 29-year-old on Tuesday after 83 games in a six-year stint at Alberton that was punctuated by dazzling displays of freakish talent but also its fair share of discipline issues.
Motlop has told NT News that he will nominate for next month's national draft in the hope of being picked up by a third club.
He spent five seasons with North Melbourne before being traded to Port Adelaide at the end of 2005.
"I'm not disappointed, I wanted to leave and I'm happy it's all over," he said.
"We left on good terms and wished each other well, now it's time for me to move on."
"I still want to play in the AFL."
"I'll nominate for the (November) draft and wait and see what happens before I decide where I want to live and play footy."
In the meantime, Motlop will play with Wanderers in the NTFL with his brother Shannon who played in the Kangaroos' 1999 premiership team.
"I'm coming home to play footy with my brother (Shannon) and cousin (Aaron) for the first time in a Wanderers jumper," he said.
"I haven't played with Shannon since our time at North Melbourne (2004)."
"If it doesn't work out in the draft I'll play the season out with Wanderers and go from there."
And he is already preparing for a high-profile clash with Brendan Fevola who will line up for Waratah against Wanderers this Sunday.
"Sure it would be nice to get one over Fev and I've already texted him to tell him I'm coming, but having my family there will mean a lot more to me," Motlop said.
