Collingwood veteran Shane O'Bree and team-mate Sean Rusling - one of the game's great unfulfilled talents - have retired from AFL football.
O'Bree is the most experienced played on the Magpies list with 246 games to his credit including 19 for Brisbane where he started his career in 1998.
O'Bree was claimed by the Lions from the North Ballarat Under 18s with pick 10 in the 1997 national draft.
He played in Brisbane for two years before heading to Collingwood as the first selection in the 2000 pre-season draft.
A fixture in the Collingwood line-up for the best part of a decade, the 31-year-old fell out of favour this season and managed just six senior matches.
Rusling, who came to the Pies as a 'smoky' in the 2003 national draft, was prevented by a succession of shoulder injuries from achieving his potential.
The 23-year-old played just one AFL game in the past three seasons for a career total of 17 matches.
