Mid-sized forward Jack Gunston has secured the move he wanted from Adelaide to Hawthorn.
The clubs have also agreed to an exchange of picks.
The Crows have given up selections 53 and 71 for Hawthorn's first three picks in the draft - 24, 46 and 64
Gunston's manager Ned Guy said both clubs were keen to get the deal done.
"I think it's a good result," Guy told Trade Week Radio.
"The discussions from the start have been pretty good."
"Jack is pretty excited."
"He can't wait to get started."
Hawthorn general manager of football operations Mark Evans said: "Jack has showed some promise in his two years at the Crows and we're confident he'll develop into a valuable player at the Hawks."
"He is an exciting prospect who is capable of playing at both ends of the ground and he will add greatly to our side’s depth and flexibility."
Adelaide list manager David Noble was happy to get the deal done and indicated that the Crows may make further trades ahead of Monday's deadline.
"We are pleased with this result as it forms an important part of our overall strategy. Our intent has always been to be flexible in a complex environment and this is a part of the end result we are trying to achieve by next Monday," he said.
At 193cm, Gunston could play as a second or third marking forward for the Hawks alongside Lance Franklin and, perhaps, Jarryd Roughead who's recovering from a ruptured achilles tendon but aiming to be available for the start of the 2012 season.
Recruited from the Sandringham Under-18s as a second-round pick in the 2009 AFL national draft, Gunston, who turns 20 on Sunday, scored 19 goals in 14 appearances for the Crows.
