Hawthorn star Lance Franklin has been chosen to captain the Indigenous All Stars team that will take on Richmond in Alice Springs on February 8.
The match will be played at Traeger Park and will follow a three-day camp to be attended by 60 indigenous AFL players.
Franklin was proud after he was bestowed with the honour.
"The Indigenous All Stars match is a really important event as it recognises the indigenous Australians' contribution to the national competition," he said.
"It's a chance for some of the best indigenous talent from across the country to play together."
The All-Stars side will be coached by former Sydney star Michael O'Loughlin and will include players such as Carlton's Eddie Betts and Chris Yarran, Hawk Cyril Rioli, Sydney Swan Lewis Jetta, and Geelong's Allen Christensen, Mathew Stokes and Travis Varcoe.
