Ever Green wins Dees best

Melbourne veteran Brad Green has capped his resurgent year by winning the Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Memorial Trophy as the club's best and fairest on Thursday night.

Green, 29, edged out defender James Frawley 295 votes to 277, with ruckman Mark Jamar in third.

Rounding out the top five was last year's winner Aaron Davey (194) and Colin Sylvia (170).

Green enjoyed his best AFL season in some years in 2010, spending time up forward as well as further up the ground, kicked a career-best haul of 55 goals and took 153 marks.

It was a tremendously consistent season for the 10-year veteran as he averaged just under 20 touches per game and kicked three goals or more in 10 of his 22 games.

Green is still in the running to receive his first spot in the All Australian team after being named in the shortlist of 40 on Tuesday, along with Frawley and Jamar.
