Ebert finds his Port

Ebert finds his Port

10/17/2011 12:05:24 AM

Trade week has gone up a gear on the final morning on Monday, with Brad Ebert finding his way to Port Adelaide, while Jordan Lisle, Josh Hill and Mitch Morton have all found new homes.

And the Saturday deal that saw former Brisbane Lions big man Mitch Clark become a Demon in exchange for pick 12 has also been ratified by the AFL.

The first deal of the final day saw Hawthorn send Lisle north to Queensland with the Lions giving up their priority selection 29 which they received for winning fewer than five games in 2011.

Now 21, Lisle made his debut for the Hawks in Round 11 this year and managed five senior games but has almost certainly been earmarked as a replacement for Clark.

Clark originally requested a trade back home to Perth, with Fremantle nominated as his preferred destination.

But after initially knocking back a lucrative offer from Melbourne last week and reiterating his desire to become a Docker, Clark changed his mind when the Demons upped their offer on Saturday.

Like Clark, Ebert had expressed a desire to return home to Adelaide after playing 76 matches in four seasons with the Eagles.

Left out of their team for their final two games of the year, the semi final win over Carlton and preliminary final loss to premiers Geelong, Ebert announced his intention to head back to South Australia.

Ebert's deal was finally completed on Monday but only after the Power had agreed terms with Greater Western Sydney over Dean Brogan and Chad Cornes.

Having both announced their retirements earlier this year, Brogan and Cornes accepted offers to play on with the expansion club and make their way to the Giants, along with pick No.69, for their pick 49.

The Power immediately on-traded that pick 49 to the Eagles, along with pick 28, to secure the services of Ebert and pick 45.

West Coast in turn have on-traded pick 49 to the Western Bulldogs in exchange for defender Hill.

The Giants have also on-traded the draft selection they received in the Brogan-Cornes deal to Brisbane, giving pick 69 to the Lions in exchange for another 'retired' player in Luke Power.

In other completed trades so far on Monday, Hawthorn have sent picks 29, 58 and 71 to Fremantle in return for picks 38 and 56 and then on-traded pick 56 to GWS for Jarrad Boumann, who played for Box Hill in the VFL in 2011 but was previously on the Bulldogs' list.

Richmond, meanwhile, have sent small forward Mitch Morton to Sydney in exchange for selection No. 79.
