Collingwood forward Brad Dick will miss the remainder of the 2010 season because of ongoing problems with his shoulder.
The 22-year-old will undergo a full reconstruction on his left shoulder next Tuesday.
Dick, a favourite of senior coach Mick Malthouse, was injured in the Magpies' win over Sydney at ANZ Stadium in round 13.
His start to 2010 was delayed by surgery to the same shoulder in December of last year.
Collingwood's football manager Geoff Walsh said Dick is expected to be available for full training at the end of December.
Recruited from East Fremantle with selection No.44 in the 2006 national draft, Dick has played 24 matches at AFL level including two this season since making his debut against Richmond in Round 3, 2007.
He missed the entire 2008 season while recovering from a knee reconstruction but managed 16 AFL games in 2009.
