A quiet second day of the AFL's trade week was highlighted by two players re-signing for their own clubs, with Chris Dawes to stay at Collingwood and Leigh Adams extending his time at the Kangaroos.
While the wheeling and dealing has continued behind closed doors, there has been no news from any clubs on Tuesday as to any deals being done.
But the Magpies moved quickly to get Dawes off the table by signing a new contract extension with the club on Tuesday.
"We've agreed. I don't know who's writing in the paper that we've not agreed but Chris and his management are signing the deal this week and it's been agreed for a week," Collingwood football manager Geoff Walsh told Trade Week Radio.
"It's just some minor little details that had to be worked out in relation to yesterday's announcement with the CBA. That's done now and we'll lodge the details in a timely fashion."
The premiership forward endured a forgettable Grand Final but is keen to be part of the new era under coach Nathan Buckley.
Dawes' signature means the Pies are all but done with trade week having secured Marty Clarke on Monday.
Adams, also 23, has signed on with the Kangaroos until the end of 2014.
The versatile half-forward had an impressive year in 2011 and North's chief of football Donald McDonald told the club's website that it was an important signing.
"It is another show of faith by one of our future leaders with Leigh agreeing to a new contract," he said.
"He is fast becoming one of our most consistent players. It is a credit to Leigh that he has overcome many injury setbacks to become the player he is today."
