Ben Cousins remains in a stable condition in hospital on Wednesday after suffering a head injury through a fall.
The former West Coast and Richmond midfielder, who's endured a difficult time battling his addictions since retiring from the Tigers at the end of the 2010 season, reportedly suffered a fall at a drug rehabilitation clinic on Monday, striking his head on a wash basin.
A spokesperson for Perth's Sir Charles Gairdner hospital said the 33-year-old's condition was stable, despite suffering injuries to his head and neck.
"Ben Cousins is under observation after hitting his head following a fall," she said.
"I can confirm he is in a stable condition."
Although Cousins has continued to battle addiction since his retirement from AFL, he has pursued some coaching work in the last 16 months and has spent time mentoring young players for East Perth.
It was even reported, he may make a playing comeback with the WAFL club, but that did not eventuate.
Cousins and his partner Maylea Tinecheff, also welcomed their first child into the world, last September.
