The AFL's initial 40-man Indigenous All-Stars squad has been announced with Essendon looming as the club that will be best represented in the exhibition match against Richmond in Alice Springs next weekend.
The Bombers have five players named in the squad - Alwyn Davey, Courtenay Dempsey, Leroy Jetta, Nathan Lovett-Murray and Patrick Ryder - which is the most of any team.
Hawthorn and Greater Western Sydney each have four players in contention to take on the Tigers.
Hawks superstar Lance Franklin will captain the side which will be coached by former Sydney premiership player Michael O'Loughlin.
Former Fremantle defender Roger Hayden, dual Brownlow Medallist Adam Goodes and Franklin's team-mate Shaun Burgyone will all serve as assistant coaches to O'Loughlin on February 8 at Traeger Park.
The Indigenous All-Stars squad will be finalised closer to match day.
It will be first time the Indigenous All-Stars have played together since 2009 when they beat Adelaide by 54 points.
They were supposed to take on Richmond in 2011, but the match was cancelled due to inclement weather.
In all, the Indigenous All-Stars have won five of six matches dating back to 1983 with the Bombers the only team to have beaten them six years ago.
