AFL halts Fev probe

AFL halts Fev probe

09/09/2010 06:50:53 AM

The AFL has called its inquiry into Brendan Fevola's behaviour at a function last weekend to a halt after the matter was referred to police.

Queensland Police advised the AFL that a woman had officially complained about the Lions forward's behaviour and had begun their own investigation.

As such, the League has called a halt to its enquiry until the Police determine what action, if any, will be taken against the troubled star.

"The AFL has told Queensland Police that it will cooperate fully with the police request and will not proceed until such time as the AFL is told otherwise," the statement said.

Fevola has been accused of indecent exposure at a function last Saturday afternoon which he attended with several team-mates.

He has been indefinitely suspended by the Lions pending the outcome of their own investigation.

What part of "Innocent until proven guilty" don't the media and public understand? I'm no fan of footballers, but trial by media and lynch mentality should be a thing of the past. Do the words "Lindy" and "Chamberlain" ring a bell?

Yeah, ill be honest i saw an article today in the courier mail about how good the group was morally until fev came. Now dont get me wrong im not a fev fan, but i know for a fact that the lions senior players are just as big scum bags cheating on their women just like fev has.

So Paul where does this story imply guilt? It merely states what is happening and why. People make up their own minds whether he's guilty or not.

Potentially losing the big big income is what would be worrying him most, and his misus if she hasn't booted him.
