Port Adelaide has progressed to the quarter-finals of the NAB Cup after a convincing 56-point victory over Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Saturday.
A young and energetic Power led for most of the first half before an explosive third quarter - in which they outscored the Crows by 43 points - set up the win.
Port kept working hard in the final term with little reward but still won 2.15.15 (123) to 1.8.10 (67).
Port's experienced brigade, including Kane Cornes, Steven Salopek and Travis Boak, collected its fair share of the ball, but it was the team's project players which would have pleased the coaching staff and supporters the most.
Cameron Hitchcock, Mitch Banner and Daniel Stewart scored two goals each and were lively throughout their first games with the club.
Former Tiger Jay Schulz also showed some promising signs but missed some opportunities in attack.
The Power will now play the Eagles at Subiaco in two weeks time while the Crows will have a regional road trip ahead of them.
Adelaide's second-half was a non-event but it won't be too concerned given the lack of first-choice players in the side.
The Crows registered the opening goal of the contest but the first quarter belonged to Port Adelaide after it kicked four majors in six minutes.
And when captain Domenic Cassisi added a super goal to the tally - courtesy of a 50-metre penalty conceded by Bernie Vince in the midfield - the Power had a handy lead.
Richard Douglas chased down Troy Chaplin in the Crows' forward 50 and pegged one back from the resulting free kick but Port still held a 16-point advantage at quarter-time.
The Crows lifted their work rate and were winning more of the football in the second term.
Vince won a free kick and converted from 35 metres midway through the stanza while a Brett Burton set shot from deep in the pocket saw them draw within striking distance.
But while Port struggled to repeat the same free-flowing game it displayed in the first quarter, it hung in there and Banner's late major gave it 14 points of breathing space at half-time.
Chris Knights scored the opening goal of the second half for Adelaide but from that point it was all Port.
The Power won the clearances 12-3, Wade Thompson kicked two majors in a minute while Justin Westhoff kicked three goals in a row to open up a match-winning lead.
The Power could have inflicted even more pain but Stewart and Matthew Lobbe hit the post from point-blank range late in term.
However, Mark Williams' boys still held a commanding 57-point advantage at the final change.
Cassisi used his left boot to register his second super goal of the match and when Stewart added to the tally the contest resembled a low-key trial run.
A responding super goal by Simon Goodwin and a set shot from Burton added some respectability to the scoreboard but it was too little too late.
